During this final session, we reflect on where we’ve been and what our next steps are in terms of living with a shared rule of life.
The purpose of this final session is to help us craft an individual rule of life, which incorporates the eight shared practices explored during The Good Way. We are asking Jesus, what is your specific invitation to me related to each of these areas?
A Daily Rhythm of Prayer
A Life Deeply Rooted in Scripture
A Regular Rhythm of Sabbath Rest
A Life marked by Simplicity and Generosity
Active Participation in the Family of Jesus
A Lifestyle of Christlike Hospitality
A Pursuit of Justice and Peace in My Activities
A Pursuit of Spiritual, Emotional and Physical Maturity
In developing a rule of life, we want to keep in mind the following:
Start Slow
Be Specific/Smart
Consider your Personality
Consider your Season/Stage of Life
Balance Upstream and Downstream Practices
Balance Structure and Spontaneity
Remember this is a live, ‘working’ document
“A good rule can set us free to be our true and best selves. It is a working document, a kind of spiritual budget, not carved in stone but subject to regular review and revision. It should support us, but never constrict us.”- Margaret Guenther

Personal Reflection
Take some time to reflect on the following questions:
What are my hopes for growing in my life with God in this season?
What is God’s invitation to me related to each of these practices?
Which practices will I engage with on a daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis?
What support or accountability will I have?
